Introduction to Glass Fusing and Slumping

One of our most popular classes for those who love and appreciate beautiful glass.  Learn to score glass then design and create a  decorative or functional square plate using different art glass techniques.

Class projects may include: square slumped plate of your own design,    bubbles on purpose plate, or decorative tile.      Time permitting,   make your first dichroic glass pendant.

Topics covered: what are the different types of glass and what makes them different (COE: coefficient of expansion)  how to safely score  and shape glass,  what happens in the kiln and why.  Glass is included in class fee.   Additional glass may be purchased from the studio.    All tools , firing, and supplies  included.     After taking this class,  students may  qualify for Open Studio to create more beautiful glass projects.   Open Studio information available by clicking on Contact Us.    Feel free to phone anytime !

Pieces are kiln fired and available for pick up or shipping the following week.

Please bring a pair of safety glasses or purchase from the instructor ($5).  Wear closed toe shoes.
