Fusing and Slumping Techniques Series: Bubbles: Creating Imagery with Stringers
Learn glass fusing techniques that are simple yet elegant and complex in appearance. Learn how to create an image or pattern using. thin strands of glass. This project covers bubble placement and bubble control while creating this stunning functional or decorative square piece. This class is suitable for those with little or no glass fusing experience. Intermediate students will add a new technique to their tool box. Students may choose iridized glass for special effects or transparent tint for a beautiful look .
Upon completing this class, students may want to explore different techniques and projects in the series. Please request information about Open Studio or click on our home page. Clear glass is included in class tuition. Additional glass may be purchased at class if desired.
Students should bring safety glasses or purchase from the instructor ($5). Please wear or bring closed toe shoes (not sandals).
Level: Introductory. Those with prior glass cutting or fusing experience will find this technique intriguing and fun. Prior glass cutting skills are not required, however.
