Get Into Glass !
If you are new to glass fusing, this introductory workshop is for you. Anyone wishing to get familiar with the terminology and basic steps of this wonderful method of glass work should take this class. During this hands on class, learn the fundamentals of kiln forming while experiencing the excitement of creating your own fused glass pieces.
First session includes : safe and easy glass cutting, types of glass and why, what goes on in the kiln when the glass goes in. First projects: square bowl and a pendant or ornament/decoration. Students will use different forms of glass to design and create their first project. Second session project is class choice, decided during first session, and may include the following techniques: round bowl with circle cutting, bubble bowl, enamels , etching , plaid. Tuition includes up to 4 kiln firings. Glass purchased at class.
Tools and kiln firing included. Students purchase glass for their projects. Please bring a pair of safety glasses or purchase from the studio ($5.00) Bring a sturdy box with top to store project pieces between classes. Wear regular shoes. No open toe or sandals.
Students who complete this class are eligible for Open Studio to create more projects.
