Glass Fusing and Slumping: Intermediate Techniques 201

For hot glass students ready to kick it up a notch, this class is designed to enhance intermediate students’  knowledge of fused and kiln fired glass.  Part of our  Intermediate Fused Glass Series,  students can choose to take classes together, in sequence or not in sequence!   Each workshop includes a review of the basics and a choice to explore  a variety of beautiful glass projects and techniques.

This  workshops offers projects to maximize your cutting skills.   Projects include the following techniques:  plaid with color shift, bubble placement, and crackle.    Students must have prior kiln casting or fusing experience.   Class begins with a review of topics including:  coefficient of expansion,  glass cutting and shaping techniques,  and the kiln process including ramping schedules.   Students will increase their knowledge of kiln process and programs.

Prerequisite:  Introduction to Glass Fusing,  experience with kiln casting or fusing,  or permission of the instructor

Cost:  $150 plus glass.   Includes up to 5 kiln firings.
