Enamels for Metal ClayStudents will bring pure copper or silver metal clay pieces made in previous classes (or from home) and learn enameling techniques appropriate for this medium. Students will learn how to choose appropriate colors to include transparent enamels, how to wet-pack the enamels into desired areas, and how to finish their pieces. Challenges unique to this medium will be discussed and examples will be reviewed. Please note if bringing fired metal clay pieces from home, the piece must be fired at the hottest/longest schedule for that brand, must not contain any inclusions (dichroic, gemstones..etc), and must be tumbled prior to enameling. The reasons for these restrictions will be discussed in class. 3hrsPrerequisite: None Studio 34 Instructor: Aleana D'Aniello Level: All Cost: $35 + 30 Please read before registering: If you do not get a confirmation from us after checking out, please call to confirm.
